

Lester has had at least two marriages, possibly more, across multiple states under different names. Lester obtained fraudulent identity documents of the deceased child and for the past 28 years, used them to obtain identity documents in at least two states under the assumed identity of this person. The child died in a tragic accident in the 1960s. Initial investigation revealed in the early 1990s, the suspect, 67 year old Deborah Lester, assumed the name of a deceased child in Texas. In a joint investigation between the local FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Colorado State Patrol, and the Colorado Springs Police Department, information was developed regarding an individual suspected of Identity Theft. The Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived and confirmed the on-scene death. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female in a field, off trail with an apparent traumatic injury. On November 6, 2018, at approximately 3:12 PM, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 3700 block of Astrozon Boulevard on a reported found body.
